Book Chapter Review: Tuesday, the 6th June 2023, at 18h00 - 20h00 (SAST), review Chapter 8 - Inspired by Village Football of the book Holistic CAREER Development COACHING and MENTORSHIP Perspective! Our Chapter reviewers are the graduates of village football from Sekhukhune District. Patrick Tsima (ex-football player of Magapung FC - Madibong Village) and Monamoledi Rampedi (ex-football player of Manganeng Batau Young Killers FC - Manganeng Village, and Schoonoord Chiefs FC - Schoonoord Village). These youngsters are today business professionals in their own right in Gauteng Province. Patrick Tsima is a COMETSA Youth Development through Sports graduate and an ex-football player of 1.FC COMETSA Goldstones 1997. He is currently the Senior Import Controller at INVESTEC for Business (a logistics and shipping unit of the INVESTEC Bank), a Senior Team Manager of Joburg City FC (a football club based at the Greek Sporting Club in Linksfield), and a Head Coach of the Under 15 Junior Premier Team of Corinthians FC (Greek Sporting Club, Linksfield). Monamoledi Rampedi is Quality Controller at Novussun Products (Pty) Ltd. He has a big ambition of making his village football club, Manganeng Batau Young Killers FC, a force to be reckoned with in the Sekhukhune District, Limpopo Province. Their perspective is informed by village football. They continue to display the discipline and hard work they have learned while growing up in the Madibong and Manganeng Villages, playing the beautiful village football. They are familiar with most village football clubs from the Sekhukhune District listed in the chapter. This is a public episode. The concept of the child of the village emanates from the African belief that children are born into families but belong to the village. Their well-being is the joint responsibility of all the elders in the village. The mothers and fathers play different roles in collectively bringing up the community’s children. They are the eyes and ears of the village regarding the nurturing of the children. Having grown up in such an environment in the small rural village of Moripane, I can appreciate the warmth such an environment provided to the children as they were growing up. This practice happened naturally. You felt that deep love and genuine care even when you were reprimanded.  This is a public episode.
